Maritime: A greener & tech-driven LNG sector
What do bubble-blowing dolphins and liquid natural gas have in common?

GasLog LNG Ltd approached us to help develop their innovation mindset and create the Innovation strategy that can deliver the ambitious, tangible growth they were seeking, through greener vessels and cutting-edge technology.
GasLog LNG is an ambitious, growth-oriented international owner, operator and manager of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, headquartered in London, with vessels build in Asia and the global Innovation team operating from Greece. They partnered with The Innovation Consultancy in 2015. Together we delivered the Innovation strategy for greener, more efficient and safe vessels that take up cutting edge technologies to build pragmatic growth.
This initiative won the team the prestigious CWC LNG Innovation Award 2015. The relationship continues in 2016 and together we explore cutting edge technologies of 3D Printing and Augmented Reality, to asses and create realistic road maps and the business case for incorporating them on vessels under construction.

Global portfolio
We work with organisations as diverse as the maritime industry (Manuport Logistics and GasLog Ltd), pharmaceuticals (Janssen, Pfizer and UCB), the energy sector (ELIA Group and Eurotherm-Schneider) as well as engineering and heavy manufacturing (World Steel Organisation in China and Europe).
The Calouste-Gulbekian Foundation gathered 12 NGOs under the Marine ColLab umbrella to create impact that is more than its parts in communicating the Value of the Oceans.
They partnered with fo.am and The Innovation Cunsultancy to create a winning team that produced a challenging roadmap of projects and delivered their first high impact one: #OneLess a single-use, plastic-bottle free London and are currently incubating their next high impact projects.
We did this through a series of facilitated days and workshops, throughout 2015 and into 2016, that helped create a closely knitted team out of the group of senior leaders of the 12 NGOs. We worked with fo.am’s collaborative laboratory approach, to help distill the mission and a vision that focuses on the sweet spot where all their individual organisation can maximise value from working together.

For example, we worked with a global engineering company, by developing the potential of teams in China to design for the local markets.and create growth through locally designed products and services in their Asia markets, going from “made in China” to “designed in China”.
Sector-agnostic
By focusing on people and technology, we can jump between industries and the corporate and non-profit sectors to cross-fertilise ideas and disruptive thinking.
Janssen partnered with us in 2013 wanting to bring their medical materials and medical professionals education to the 21st century.
Together we delivered a library of interactive 3D books, that use virtual reality, animation and interactive iBooks to tell the story of disease and medicine. Highly specialised, full of information, incorporating academic sources and clinical trials, provide a wealth of information in visually compelling and interactive ways, incorporating active questionnaires and virtual reality animations of how disease works and the impact of medicines.
Cross-fertilising solutions
Our work with for-profit and global NGOs including Save The Children, the Gulbenkian Foundation and the BBC allows us to cross-fertilise solutions to global problems.
Leadership coaching
We Coach one-to-one and teams to deliver impact through visionary leadership and team innovation.
Through coaching we empower leaders in Save The Children since 2014 to drive strategic vision, engage and inspire teams and create efficiencies through innovative thinking. We believe in partnering with organisations around coaching, and we feel that our contribution through coaching could enable leaders to have a ripple effect positively contributing to devoted leaders of this global NGO.

In 2015 we brought together a group of 20 senior leaders, from artists to artistic directors of some of the most prestigious flemish cultural organisations. These were leaders and artists that have been coached over the past five years through an innovative coaching programme supported by fo.am and the flemish government. Together we explore how by aligning hearts and minds it is possible to create impact in the broader communities, their organisations and the cultural sectors.
